I had my first “Name the Painting” contest on my Facebook biz page last week for this painting…
I am so impressed by the creative responses! I could really use this kind of help to name every painting. In case you didn’t see all the talent, here are a few…
Everything’s Coming up Roses!
The Enlightenment of Dirt (This was my brother’s submission. He’s a funny guy!)
Here Comes the Sun
Still in Bloom
It’s Your Time to Bloom
The Earth Exhales
Walk with Me
Gather to Grow a Gift
How could I make such a choice? I love all the ideas. And, I love many of the people who suggested them. And, if I didn’t know the person personally, I’m sure I’d love them if I knew them. I really didn’t want to have to pick.
But, then I came across this response by Joanne F.,“Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and there are so many lovely pinks in your painting, how about ‘pink for the cure’ or ‘blooming for the cure’ with a portion of the sales going to Susan G. Komen?”
How could I say no to this? It seems serendipitous that I happened to paint a bunch of pink flowers and did this contest on the verge of Breast Cancer Awareness Month without realizing the connection.
So, in honor of all of those who have suffered, endured and survived or put up their best fight but left us too soon and for their loved ones left behind, “Bloom for the Cure” will be sold with 10 percent of the proceeds going to Susan G. Komen.
Thank you everybody who participated! Stay tuned for more “Name the Painting” contests on my Facebook page in the future.
Congrats, Joanne F.! I will send you a print of this painting and appreciate your great idea!
